Anyone read the story about the writer who insinuated that Will Smith praised Hitler? Here it is:I did not support Hitler, says Will SmithSadly, the writer's comment seems to have been made against a backdrop of victimhood mentality. I thought it wasn't hard to understand that Smith was saying that Hitler subjectively did what was "good" in his own eyes, even though it was objectively very wrong. For whatever logic Hitler used, killing millions in order to achieve his goal accorded with his sick view of what was necessary for the "betterment" of society. Now Smith has to defend himself in a situation where he shouldn't have had to in the first place. Smells like political correctness yet again.
I keep waiting for a parent to misread what I tell the students about leadership; that Hitler was one of the great leaders… led Germany 180 degrees the wrong way (this they'll miss ::)) but in terms of getting the job done… great.PC'll get ya every time.Wally
Gunbroker has a thread about this. Just goes to show that being stuck on Right wing is almost as bad as being Leftist. (wonder if the posters there actually read what he said instead of just accusing him of being some dumb celebrity 🙂
Wow; glad their kids don't go to my school… I'd have a lot of 'splainin' to do.The Smothers Brothers were right; if a bird is too far "left wing" or too far "right wing" it'll just fly around in circles.
Yeah I don't know what those Gunbroker folks are thinking. To analogize, it would be as if I blamed them as being racists because they are criticizing – ganging up – on Will Smith. They would rush to defend themselves, to to explain their view, etc….just as Will Smith is doing when he should have to.It's all political correctness run amok.** correction - last sentence should read "when he shouldn't have to"....I think he's being unfairly criticized here.
