I had not. From 1972 by Sergio Leone, it features James Coburn and Rod Steiger and centers on the Mexican Revolution. Good action and story, and really bloody. We tend to ignore the warfare that has continued mostly without interruption on this planet since modern man dropped out the trees. Lack of almost instant global communication hindered the travel of news until relatively recently in our time. And we still are fighting, all over the world. It's a big, big business, from which we and others make a profit through arms sales. End of rant.
I seriously doubt it's all about the profit. Peace through superior firepower.
We obviously do not profit financially from the war in Iraq, but those countries that profit by selling arms to others in conflict fuels war like throwing gasoline on a fire. Those that profit from arm sales to other nations are encouraging and sustaining warfare. So, should all nations stop selling weapons of war to others? This would leave each individual country free to beat the crap of itself with civil conflicts, but not pick on other nations, right?Nah! Let's keep thowing gas on fires all over the world. >:(

I don't agree because many times those civil conflicts spill over into other countries. And what about the innocent majority of those conflicted countries? Their government has oppressed and disarmed them, good (foreign) governments arm them which hopefully leads to a revolution. Many times revolutions have good results. Iraq is a good example...Al Qaeda is pretty much irrelevant now because we armed and trained the locals.
Nah! Let's keep thowing gas on fires all over the world. >:(
I look at it as putting those fires out by arming the good people. Granted it doesn't always work out that way, but it works enough to give the incentive to keep trying IMO.
But what if stopping weapons proliferation accidentally stopped a gunfight somewhere, saving your family? Or should we still just keep pumping the ammo and guns onto that conflict? Save your family, or continue finance as usual?Shit! Are you kidding me? Stop a gunfight? You must be fucking nuts! What the fuck do you think we are paying you for? Why, to slaughter civilains. Is that not the purpose for slaughter in Africa? And we are selling weapons to support this slaughter. Until you grab your senators and congressmen by their nutsacks, and cut their ball off, you will continue to a weenine boy.As long as you allow George to run wild in the White House, you are at fault, because you allow him to do so. Take charge; tell our president your are not happy with his actions. It won't make any difference, because our president, in my estimation, is not listening to the people. Even worse, he has assumed and declared powers that demand he be immediately disposed. He meant well. But he's just way out of his depth.Sorry, Mr. ex president, but your son is an ongoing joke. Get him a job in one of those commedy clubs. The boy just wants to be funny, and loved. How could you possibly allow him to screw up for so long?Sincerely,A sad citizen
You're not making sense. You first said we sell weapons too much, now you say stopping weapons proliferation isn't good. I'm not aware of us doing small weapons proliferation anyway, but we are doing nuclear and biological weapons proliferation. Quite a big difference, wouldn't you say?
“And we are selling weapons to support this slaughter. Until you grab your senators and congressmen by their nutsacks, and cut their ball off, you will continue to a weenine boy.”Makes the assumption they are so equipt... calm down and realize more than outrage is desired to change anything these days. Two (or more) out of the three remaining front runners for the job show tendencies that are less that desirable... I do however agree that much of what goes on is not strictly legal or Constitutional. We won't get a handle on this by online rants but by grassroots political action. Washington was against political parties... we now know why.
