Referencing on scripture by many religions and adhering to its tenets would mean they are all the same religion. It is patently obvious that there are huge differences between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They may claim to worship the same God but they cant all be right. If they were, then why the difference in the first place? One God, three different messages? ??? I dont think so.
Taking faith out of the discussion and looking at it all from a historian's view, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all have the same roots – that is, all three can be traced back to one common point in the personage of Abraham (or Abram) who was born in the city of Ur sometime around 1800 BCE. The story of Abraham (Abram) is told in the book of Genesis. Basically, God promised Abram that if he left his home and family in Babylonia and worshiped Him, God would bless Abraham and his descendants, making his descendants a great nation. As the story goes, Abram and his wife Sarai were unable to have children and were childless well beyond Sarais child bearing years. Since Sarai was unable to bear Abraham's children, she offered her maid servant Hagar (a daughter of the Egyptian Pharoah) to Abram, and Hagar bore him a son, Ishmael. Later, with God's blessing, Sarai bore Abram a son, Isaac. (It is when Isaac is born that Abram's name is changed to Abraham - "father of many" - and Sarai's name is changed to Sarah - "princess").According to both Jewish and Muslim tradition, Ishmael became the ancestor of the Arab people. Isaac on the other hand, became the ancestor of the Jewish people. Islam traces it's roots back to Ishmael and Abram while Judaism and Christianity trace their roots back to Isaac and Abraham. So, from a historian's position, all three of these major religions trace their roots back to the blood of the same man - Abraham/Abram and the covenant that he formed with God. By this measure, yes, the three faiths recognize the same God - but all three faiths took divergent and different paths in the last 3500 years. Two of the faiths recognize Jesus of Nazareth as a prophet of God, and one recognizes him as the promised Messiah or Son of God.That is not to say that modern religions recognize this kindred relationship, but that is a different history from the original question asked.
They are Abrahamic religions, but one big difference is this. In the Bible, God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, in the Koran, God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Ishmael. Big difference in my opinion, because the Abrahamic covenent continued thru Isaac, not Ishmael.I don't really agree that 2 religions recognize Jesus as a prophet. Most Jewish sects do not. What separates Christianity from the other two, and every other (as far as I know) world religion, is that the Messiah or Great Prophet is God the Creator. "through Him, all things wer made" (John 1).Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Islam, Judaism, etc. all have great prophets/founders, but none of them claimed divinity.
Oh yah, Suddenly i recalled of something. During the ancient times when the Jews first settled in China during the ancient days, The chinese had mistaken them to be as Muslims instead of Christians. I wonder why this is so? are they too Similiar in many ways? should a christain and a muslim be very obvious of their differences?also 2ndly, it is regarding Hong Xiu Quan of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom!in brief, it is something like this:1) Hong Xiu Quan had much Christain influneces around him for many years2) one day he had some sharing or conversation with an american pastor3) that very night he had a dream4) GOD and Jessus appeared inside his dream5) He was told that he was the 2nd son of God , the Younger brother of Jessus Christ6) he has a mission in China. to establish the heavenly kingdom of god, to liberate the Chinese, to save their souls, to welcome them to god's kingodm and to establish god's kingdom in China!7) he soon hold his claim that he is the son of god, god's 2nd son, jessus's younger brother8) he eventually established the taiping heavenly kingdom in China to overthrow the Qing regime and to establish a christian dynasty in China. he wanted to turn China into a christain dynasty.9) his forces were indeed formidable and many of the things he did and events that happened, somewhat seems to be history repeating itself. Jessus's history repeating on him, somehow. many of the establisments, impacts, things done and said etc.. were very culturally christain.however, very very very few christains know about this person and the bible did not even mentioned of him, if i am not mistaken.isn't the bible a compilation of things that happened during different times and words of god in it?

H?ng Xi?qu?n ( 洪秀全) (11 January 1851 ? 1 June 1864) was a Hakka Chinese who led the Taiping Rebellion against the Qing Dynasty, establishing the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom over varying portions of southern China, with himself as the "Heavenly King" and self-proclaimed brother of Jesus Christ. He took the first-degree civil service examinations in Guangzhou and failed, as imperial examinations had a pass rate of 1%. He retook the test four times, but never succeeded and suffered a nervous collapse.During his recovery in 1837 he had a number of mystical visions. During the Taiping Rebellion, Hong Xiuquan ruled by making frequent proclamations from his Heavenly Palace, demanding strict compliance with various moral and religious rules. Most trade was suppressed and property socialized. Polygamy was forbidden and men and women were separated, although Hong and other leaders maintained groups of concubines. The Taiping Rebellion was put down by Qing forces, aided by Western officers, in 1864.
however, very very very few christains know about this person and the bible did not even mentioned of him, if i am not mistaken.isn't the bible a compilation of things that happened during different times and words of god in it?
