Has anyone heard of the site Brainmass? It is an online tutoring site where people with advanced degrees can earn money by answering questions. I am an OTA there but have not decided if am going to stick with it. The money is good but the vast majority of questions I see seem to be people willing to pay to have their homework done for them. I am not sure I like the idea as it seems to degrade the whole idea of getting a degree in the first place. Then again, the money is good.Anybody have an opinion or experience with an outfit like this they are willing to share?
I had not heard of Brainmass before but now am intrigued. I heard of a similar concept from some other site where students were matched up with teachers, but from what I recall the idea was somewhat different. I normally email my students answers anyways when they email me, so maybe I should try getting paid for it instead. I looked at your profile on the site and it says you have answered two questions. Can you tell us/me how much they generally pay (by PM if you'd prefer)? I am just curious and it doesn't say how much experts get, but it seems like it might vary per question. I might be interested in signing up but if they only pay $2 an answer, it's probably not worth it.
