How's this for a hoot. The French city of Angers, home of the House of Plantagenet is demanding the British Royal Family hand over the Crown Jewels as compensation for the murder of the last of the line in the Tower of London in 1499.Interesting take, but if the British won't give back the Elgin Marbles I don't see them giving up the Crown Jewels to settle a murder accusation.
Is there a statute of limitations on murder in Europe?
I saw this story and wondered what was the catalyst for it. If nothing else, it raises the status of Angers and puts it on the tourist map.
I don't think there is a Statute of Limitations on murder anywhere in the world.Phid, I agree that this is more of a publicity stunt than anything else. An interesting use of history thought, to say the least.
