Anyone here use Craigslist? I sold my first item through the site just yesterday. I had put another piece of furniture on the site a few days before that, but probably at too low of a price since I got a lot of potential buyers contacting me. So I upped the price and reposted it today.
We used it before we moved to Germany to sell a lot of stuff. We sold all of our 100v appliances that way because we cant use them in Germany. It has its upsides and downsides, but then so does putting stuff in the paper. It is a useful service. I would imagine it is getting even more use during the current recession than it was previously. They have it over here but only for the major cities.
I sold another piece of furniture on cl yesterday, and I put my car up for sale as well. I got about five people contacting me about my car and I may show it to a guy today for a test drive.
I'm thinking about using it for some things, but my Dad sells on Ebay and he told me that you can list items locally for free. Could go that route I guess.
Well I just sold my car on craigslist this afternoon. I got a good buyer and a decent price on it. It was probably on the site for two-three days and I got about 8 or 9 emails and spoke with two people on the phone before I sold it. I'm guessing that ebay started listing local items for free because of CL. IMO, craigslist is probably better for selling larger items to local people, but ebay is better for items that you can ship easily.
