Outside of the Koran and Hadiths, is there any evidence that Mohammed actually existed?
Was there something that made you question this?
As far as I'm aware he is a historical figure. I seem to remember there being several Chronicles contemporary to his lifetime that mention him.

Well, I keep hearing how Jesus may or may not have been an historical figure, so I am applying the same method to Mohammed.He ascended into heaven from the Dome of the Rock? Really? I guess my faith is weak when it comes to Islam.
To my knowledge there is no debate about whether Jesus is an actual historical figure or not. He is mentioned in Roman tax records as well as in some contemporary accounts that I know of.
No serious scholar I'm aware of questions the historicity of Muhammad.
