This one is from the Caucasus Mountains in Russia. Sounds like they were not too far from the Akkadians and other groups of northern Sumer.New Bronze Age civilisation discovered in Russian Caucasus
Sounds like an interesting find but a new civilisation? The article does not tel lus much but what it does say sounds like either the writer or the researcher has jumped to conclusions. Could be and probably even is true but I would hesitate to make such a bold statement based on an initial survey of the sites discovered
What are you thinking – that this was merely a branch of a known civilization? I suppose that's possible given the proximity to other Sumerian Civilizations. One thing that's interesting is that the remains were found at the mountain peak.
It may be a new civilization; I don't know. I do know that that is a judgment that is kind of hard to support based on 1 or 2 years of field work. There are many things these finds could be, among them is a new, previously unknown civilization. It could also be an outpost of a known one or a related sub-group. I am simply saying the guy in the article is making a pretty bold statement based on his admitted level of knowledge about what they have found there.
