Ohio State invited me to come to campus at their expense for an interview in about a week and a half. I am thankful that my application was competitive and it will be interesting to see what the program is like. I am not entirely sure what to expect but hope things go well. I am hoping to get similar invitations to some other schools that I want to attend. If things go well I will probably write updates; if not so well, then maybe not. ;D
You've taken your first step into a larger world. 🙂
I'm very impressed. Good luck with all that.
Thanks. It is indeed a step and hopefully something good will come out of it.
Good luck Phid – The OSU is a great school and has a great PHD program
Thanks – I'm guessing you're referring to the history program….my field is actually art history, which is obviously related yet a separate field. So I just got back from Columbus this afternoon after having flown out there on Friday. It was a nice trip. The university flew out about a dozen students to casually “interview”, and it was very good to be able to talk to professors and other grad students there, as well as other students who are applying to the grad program there. I had never been to Columbus before, but it's nice because it's 2-3 hours from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. We'll see how things go in the next 2-3 weeks.
