ParticipantI see no scenario where Romney wins without Ohio. He must have Ohio or he will come up short.

ParticipantI think Romney will win Ohio and handily at that. I still say a Reagan landslide is coming because people are not being honest with pollsters.

ParticipantI don't think Romney is strong enough for a Reaganesque Landslide. In fact, I think he could still lose Ohio and the election. Obama is still raising crazy amounts of money so his support base is still solid.

KeymasterI thought Obama did better than he did in the first debate. Who won? I don't think that there was a clear winner. Liberals will think Obama won, conservatives may think Romney won. At the end of the day, I think that Romney has to do two things to win, and he should put his best efforts into focusing on these messages:1) He's a businessman (and a rich one at that) and Obama's a community organizer. Obama's policies over the past four years have failed. Who is better equipped to help the economy going forward? Clearly, Romney.2) So many other issues depend on the economy: funding for our military/national security depends on a strong economy at home; increasing the strength of our educational system depends on a strong economy; reducing the debt requires a strong economy; reducing crime will happen with a strong economy. If Romney keeps hammering these messages, people will understand that he is the clear choice. Hearing from people interviewed in focus groups, they tend to say that Romney is a businessman and is therefore the better choice to lead the economy. However, I haven't heard Romney himself repeat this message enough.

ParticipantDebate thoughts:1. Obama deployed the evil rich guy argument early and falsely2. Has Obama opened up new areas for energy exploitation? Not that I am aware of.3. No interest, dividends, or capital gains taxes on people earning less than $200,000 (that is the best idea I have heard out of Romney yet.4. Obama seemed desperate in the way he was interrupting Romney when Romney made excellent and telling points.5. The moderator was in the bag for Obama.6. Obama completely misinterprets the 2nd Amendment but that is about what I expected from him.7. I love the fact that Romney is not afraid to be proud of his faith. 8. Best quote: "I love 100% of the American people and I want 100% of the American people to have a bright and prosperous future.." - Mitt RomneyAll in All I think this debate went to Romney but Obama did a better job this time and he definitely came off as more professional than Biden did last week.

Moderator2. Yeah, in Saudi Arabia :-5. When I heard Candy Crawley telling the viewers her "role" in this debate, I knew there would be trouble. Sorry, dear, your role is to just shut up and be an objective reporter. You failed.

KeymasterOne more thing – did you hear how many times Obama brought up Planned Parenthood? He must have brought it in about three of his answers at differing points. The Dems must have decided they wanted to use it as a wedge issue. Later, Chris Matthews was quoted as saying that if Romney/Ryan get in, their prolife policy will be “almost like Shariah.”

ModeratorI'm thinking (hoping?) that all this talking bad things about the Right is backfiring on them. I mean the say some extreme and vile stuff. Don't you think this turns off all but the extreme Leftists?

No it's a bad idea if it's not across the board for all income brackets. Selective tax cutting is a Democratic strategy not a Republican one.

Why, he thinks the current tax rate for the rich is appropriate. What I would really like to see is if everyone had to pay some taxes.
