Karl Rove mentioned yesterday that he didn't think we'd know the results by 8 or 9 tonight, since some of these states will come down to the wire. Incidentally, how do you find information about candidates of local offices when they don't publish them on their web sites? For example, I don't want to put some liberal politician into any office if I can help it (even something like school board) but they don't announce all their positions to the public.
I told you guys that Mitt Romney was a weak candidate. He never could sustain any momentum and Obama could say whatever he wanted and nothing boomeranged on him.
I don't think that Romney was a weak candidate. He was about as good a candidate that the Republicans could offer, MEANING that he had appeal for voters who were economy-minded, to many conservatives, and to independents who do not consider themselves to fall squarely into the conservative camp. Other candidates may have been better in terms of principle, but not necessarily in terms of political likeability (e.g. Newt Gingrich). The problems is that a) it's hard running against an incumbent, b) it's hard running against an opponent AND the mainstream media, and c) the American voter has changed into a force which is more intent on getting “free” stuff than ensuring a prosperous future.
By the way, if this site is running slow it may be because it's on a shared server with my inauguration site. That site is going crazy now with over 11k views in the past hour and a half. I think my web host may get mad at me if I do not upgrade my hosting package soon. 🙁
So begins a four year very dangerous period. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid the American people can be. I am so disappointed right now in my fellow countrymen. I will be saying I told you so in 4 years when unemployment is still hovering around 8% and nothing has changed except the word is a more dangerous place. Apparently Americans are happy with a yellow-belly in the White House. We deserve whatever happens in the next four years. Forward! Indeed.

That is basically it - we reap what we sow. If Americans want a leader who will bring the economy on a slow-motion train-wreck while he funds his pet social policies, then so be it. They shouldn't be surprised when we end up a slave to China and morally devastated. Americans have decided to sacrifice prosperity and greatness for things such as the right to sexual escapades on demand and free stuff from the government.

And you're blaming Romney for this and not the MSM?? Romney was not a weak candidate. The MSM won another election. This country is doomed. RIers are idiots. The morons in MA elected the psycho woman. Support the troops folks. They're going to need it now more than ever before. And let's hope for a warm winter for those of us who heat our homes with oil or gas.I am so disgusted, and for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country.
Simply put.. “Stupid is as stupid does.”America has become a bunch of spoiled, socialistic crybabies. How the country can vote in AGAIN a man responsible for the current state of affairs in this country is mind-boggeling. Take Wisconsin... The polls showed that the young voters there were the majority and they supported Obama because they felt all the problems were... wait for it... Bush's fault... What????? The majority of blacks voted for Obama simply because he is black. The problem is that the system is so broken, the people so out of touch there is nowhere for the country to go but down. That saddens me. :'(
The social revolution that began in the 1960s is almost completed plus the feminization of the country. Also no draft since 1973, which means, excluding volunteers, those about 58-60 and younger never had to serve.
Romney was a weak candidate. He had no likable personality (he was stiff almost fabricated in nature). He was Mormon and I am sure that soured many Christian voters who understood what Mormonism is all about. He was a RINO and libertarians and hardcore conservatives couldn't get jazzed about another moderate/liberal representing the GOP. Romney talked a conservative game, but many of us knew he would never govern that way. Romney invented Obamacare in Massachusetts for crying out loud. There were questions about his Bain Capital company that whether contrived or not, he never really countered effectively. He is rich, and that puts off many voters who suffer from class envy (which Obama effectively capitalizes on). Finally, he wasn't willing to attack Obama on the Benghazi attack where Obama was very vulnerable. Romney had opportunity after opportunity to hit Obama hard during the campaign, but refused to do so like McCain did. The result is eerily similar to McCain's effort. In short, I'm not surprised by this outcome. America is a spoiled rotten little child and Obama's team fully understands this and knows how to manipulate the masses. The GOP has to re-brand if it wants to win elections going forward. If it can't, it will be torn asunder by the Tea Party and other rising factions.
Romney is not weak, he's a moderate. The country even rejected a moderate Republican. A true Conservative would have been trounced worse. It's not Romney's fault, it's the people of this country. In reading some pre-election Leftwing commentary about Benghazi it was clear they didn't care about it. That was no big deal to the Left. So even if Romney attacked (which he did), it only matterer to those of us who cared...which apparently and unfortunately isn't too many of us.
I agree with Skiguy here. Any other candidate that the Republicans could have put forward would have had a list of deficiencies equal to or longer than Romney's. While there definitely were better potential Republican leaders who could have been offered in the race, I don't think there was a better candidate. And as Ski put it - the country rejected a moderate Republican. A conservative Republican would probably not have done better. I agree with what Donroc insinuated above - if this country had to go to war in any major way, the people might wake up and an Obama-typey candidate would never be elected. As it stands, people are content with electing the candidate who can wine and dine with Jay-Z rather than the one who can turn around our economy.
Re-elected maybe but it's not a landslide victory if you look at the House of Representatives. No result from Florida yet; why is it always so slow there ?
