I would say that German unification was more of a prerequisite for WWII in terms of allowing a dictator to have such power. Zephyr,What do you unification and dictatorship have in common? Or better yet what is the connection between the two? Germany Unified over 60 years prior to Hitler's taking power and had already undergone one change of government without fragmenting.
