George Washington was a great president for the United States. He was the first president. Washington was born on February 22, 1732. He was the oldest son. His father died in 1743.On January 6, 1759 Washington married Martha Custis. She was a weathly lady. George and Martha were a great couple. Washington was a general in the Revolutionary War.When George was 57 years old an important event happened in his life, he became the first president of the United States of America. He was a great president. On December 14, 1799 Washington died. Even though Washington is dead we can still remeber the great things he did for our country.
Today it is what it is… then it was what it was… when we judge history by our “standards” the past always “looses”. In his time that was the societal norm. No excuses just what was; that this is no longer the norm in most of the world is proof we're gaining, IMHO.Wally
