Gyros, Zaziki, Bean Soup (with huge beans, like the size of your thumb), Souvlaki, Suzuki, Bifteki. I love Greek Food, in fact I ate at a Greek restaurant last week. My favourites are Souvlaki and Gyros with Zaziki.
While we are on the topic of Greek food, they also serve baklava as a dessert. The last time I was in Greece, I recall the dishes they served were typically some junk-type of meat (beef or pork) with either rice or perhaps orzo, and I think some vegetable. This was a long time ago, though, so the details are hazy. And don't forget olive oil. For a spammer, this guy can actually start an interesting topic of discussion!
Don't forget Retsina and Ouzo. Retsina is one of the nastiest things I ever drank. The only thing nastier I can think of is Bosnian Rakija which is a kind of Plum schnaps. Rakija can probably take the paint off the space shuttle, it can definitely take out the lining of your stomach.

You must of been going through some rough times to be drinking stuff like that LOL.

It was 1996 and I was deployed. General Order #1 prohibited us from drinking alcohol so we couldn't buy it at the PX. That falls under the category of stupid orders though. A stupid order is defined as ordering something you cannot enforce, also one of the first things they tell you not to do at PLDC (the armies first leadership school for NCO's now know as WLC).

A matter of taste...Here in Balkans Retsina is one of the best tasting white wines,unique..I personally don't like either Ouzo or Metaxa, though Greek vines in General are great.Rakija is served all over Balkans, but it is known as a Serb national drink...Also except plum, it is made from all kinds of fruit. And can be pretty rough, but doesn't have to be..though foreign stomach might not be used to any of it.
I have drank liquor all over the world and Rakija is just plain disgusting. You can almost drown the taste with coke but it still comes through. Rakija reminds me of Slivovitz or any number of the different Schnapps and Weinbrands they make in Germany. I personally favor Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey or Canadian Blends for my hard liquor needs. Metaxa is OK, if a bit on the sweet side. To each his own though.
