J.S. Bach was born on this day (March 21) in 1685.  Well, kind of.  As this story explains, he was born under the Julian calendar, which is actually March 31 in the Gregorian calendar.Also in that article, it mentions that both Britain and the American colonies didn't adopt the Gregorian calendar for quite some time after its invention in 1582.  They finally changed their clocks (er, calendars) in 1752(!).  So all sorts of dates of things in those regions we read about in history books prior to the mid-eighteenth century should be checked for accuracy (well, at least if we're celebrating anniversaries).Anyway, in honor of Bach, a cantata.[html][/html]
