A story in the UK Sun about the KGB officer who, in 1970, dug up the remains of Hitler and cremated them before spreading them over some unnamed stream:

Several, I believe; but he's right in that publishing his location (real or not) would create an iconic place for the Neo-facists... not something we really want, eh?

That is correct. It makes one wonder, however, why the KGB would have done this in 1970. I can't imagine the USSR's concerns would have simply been racism/anti-Semitism. More likely they feared the political clout of Fascists...
