Interesting “factoid” story from CNNhttp://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/12/11/russia.hitler.remains/index.htmlThe gist of the story - Hitler's remains (and those of Eva Braun and Goebels and his family) were taken from the Reich's Chancellory by the Soviets in May 1945 and in June 1945 were burried in a forest near Rathenau, Germany and then later in the year, disinterred and reburried in Madgeburg at the site of a Soviet Red Army garrison. They remained there until early 1970 when the garrison was turned over to the East Germans. In order to prevent the burial site from being discovered and turned into a fascist shrine, the bodies were disinterred, burned, the ashes crushed/ground up, and dumped in the Biederitz River. The Russians claim that a fragment of Hitler's skull and his jawbone are in the FSB (former KGB) archives.
PhidippidesKeymasterI saw a report on some show a few years ago where people were trying to find the tomb of Hitler. Evidently the conspiracy about his remains continues on.What gets me is that even though Hitler has been demonized more than anyone in popular culture today, he has gotten celebrity status in the process. The video clip shows all those TV cameras pointing at his supposed skull fragment, which is treated as a museum piece inside a glass pyramid. Seeing that clip tells me more about society today than it tells me about Hitler.
