KeymasterAlright, that was crappy. Basically two days straight of working on papers. Well not quite straight but it was a lot. If you'd now like to discuss iconography associated with the plague Sts. Sebastian and Roch, just let me know and I'll be able to fill you in. 😉

At the risk of sounding overly pompous, rather than telling you, why don't you step into my classroom and I'll teach you.... ;DOk so that does sound pompous but....you'll enjoy the exercise.

ParticipantMy semester is over. I buckled down this fall: no computer unless it was emails to answer and achieved a 4.0 GPA. So I'm pretty proud of myself. I wrote a paper for Cultural Anthropology class about the influence of German eugenics and Social Darwinism in relation to the Nazis and their treatment of Gypsies. The prof gave me the highest grade ever in her years teaching at my university and while teaching at Vanderbilt. My family is happy to see me surface from our den, finally.

KeymasterCongrats, Bensgal! It's tough during crunchtime…glad to hear you made it through successfully and that you did well. 🙂

ModeratorGood job, BG. I know how difficult cultural anthropology can be so that's awesome you did well with that paper. Now let's get posting here! ;D

ParticipantWell done BG. Perhaps we could see a sample of that paper?

Well, according to the article that I'm about to post on Wikipedia.... ( ;D) ...iconography has to do with the art and design of those cute little shortcuts that sit on your computer desktop. Developers at Apple have recently redefined the true art of iconography (something that Microsoft developers just can't quite grasp) and Apple has recently qualified for an NEA grant to expand the study of iconography as it related to the iPhone, iPod, and iTouch. the result is that the proper citation is now "iConography". Hey, if I get it posted on Wikipedia, it has to be true, right?

ModeratorWe should make a thread of historical errors found on wikipedia.

ParticipantWe should make a thread of historical errors found on wikipedia.
That thread would rapidly become the largest on this board I think. The errors on wikipedia are too numerous to count. Most prevalent is my favorite pet peeve-Bias/ideology.

ModeratorMine are the “facts” about the Troubles. I already found one that's questionable (or at least not established fact) Maybe they should tag it with one of those cute little 'citation needed' things.

You can tag it yourself, that is the supposed beauty of wikipedia

ModeratorNot worth the effort. I signed up there once and posted the definition of Successiniraqnophobia, but they banned me and deleted the entry.
