This guy actually predicts that if the Republicans take over the House in 2 weeks we can expect republican death squads going after Democrats. Here is his intro but the whole piece is worth reading:
The difficult thing about dealing with a frenzied totalitarian movement like today's Republican Party is not only do they not take “No” for an answer, they don't even really take “Yes.” Whether they're sent packing by the electorate or accepted with open arms, their one and only response to all possible events is to further crystallize their beliefs, purify their ranks of dissent, and break all of their own records for violence, depravity, and madness. So we find ourselves confronting a bitter realization: Win or lose this election season, Republicans appear to be headed on a one-way path to organized political violence.
But, by far the absolute best piece of the whole article is the poll at the bottom of the page that asks, Can Republicans be “Americanized”? When I read the article there were 1643 votes and only 280 or 18% who said maybe or yes while 1363 or 82% were pessimistic or said no. That percentage made me sit up. I am a conservative, former Republican but I don't plan on going on a liberal killing rampage if the Republicans win the House in November. That there are people who even think it might be possible is scary in itself. How many people on the left think conservatives have jackboots and Brownshirts in their closet? Hopefully this piece is just a product of the lunatic fringe that exists on the left as surely as it exists on the right. The vitriol in this piece is kind of surprising. Lastly, does the right/Republicans need to "Americanized" as he so cleverly puts it?
I think ultimately it just goes to show how both sides are so completely polarized that this kind of lunacy get's put out and people believe it.I think it also proves how volatile our political climate is right now and how we are on track to a very bad ending if something isn't done. I am not sure what that "something" is, but I know that even the founding fathers put into so many words that the people have the responsibility to "fix" the government if it no longer works. I think we are very close to the point where it no longer works.
The poll is completely irrelevant. It's from the kosmos people.And remember, there were and probably still are, a loud minority of the Left who thought Bush had death camps in the US. This is just a rehash of that garbage.
I agree that the Kos kids are a bucnh of flakes. I just did not realize how completely flaky some on the left really are. I guess there is stuff like this on the right, I just dont pay it any heed or dismiss it when I do see it. Perhaps I should do the same with those on the left that have obviously drank too much of the kool-aid.
Ski is right – your first problem was that you were getting your information from Daily Kos. You knew what to expect when you visited the site, and I'm guessing you went there intentionally looking to have your jaw dropped….kind of like the whole reason why people like going to haunted houses for Halloween, or circus side shows….When I see someone post something extreme like that online, my response is often to ask them to provide evidence that supports anything of the sort. Just yesterday I read some posters on Yahoo saying that Christine O'Donnell wanted to create a theocracy in America. I ask for any evidence whatsoever that she has said she wants to accomplish that. If they can't provide evidence, they are left empty-handed.
OK, OK, enough with beating me up for looking at the Kos kids. I like to check out their site and Huffington Post every once in a while. I dont ewant to get views and information from only one side of the political spectrum, I want to see it all. Not only do I stay better informed, I am generally confirmed in my viewpoints. This piece got me because of the vehemence of the sentiment and the sheer number of folks that are willing to vote that Republicans, ie conservatives are some kind of evil trolls. If nothing else this highlights how partisan and divisive politics in America has become. That is mainly why I pointed it out.If I avoid news and information from the left then I am censoring myself just as effectively as the Chinese censor their own people.

In all honesty, though, I think that would be very hard to censor oneself in one's news intake. For example, I consider the Associated Press to be a left-of-center organization because of its pattern of providing slanted stories, and many of the articles we read each day are from the AP. So in other words, just by getting the news from a so-called "mainstream media" outlet, I'm getting the views from the "other side". I suppose the case could be made that by getting news from FoxNews, one is getting it from a "mainstream media" outlet which leans to the right.
No one's beating you up for looking at it, I look at Democratic Underground and Daily Kos often, we're pounding on you for taking any polls by them seriously. They are the outer fringes of the fringe Left.
I did not take the poll seriously. I pointed out the results to highlight how flaky those on the extreme left are. This is especially ironic given how much noise they make about the extreme right. It is is also curious because you never hear news pieces talking about the danger of left wing extremists. There are some pretty extreme leftys out ther such as those folks that spike trees in the Pacific North west, or the rabid animal rights types and environmentalists, and there is always the civil rights types that want everyone to believe that “whitey” is just aching to reinstitute slavery. The far left is no better than the far right when it comes to wackiness but for some reason the far right gets all the press.Lastly, the Kos kids let me know exactly who my enemies are and also that I dont really have to worry about them being too violent. It is hard to get too violent when the dope makes you so mellow. ;D
