Here's the story:Last Surviving Marine In Iwo Jima Flag Photo DiesNotice how he spends his "later years" trying to show he was actually the one in the photo. I would feel kind of miffed if I was in a warzone, photographed in an historical photo, only to have it questioned later on.
Did you see/read Flags of Our Fathers? The picture that we all know was staged (on the island, but staged nonetheless).
I had heard something like that before. I haven't seen the movie. I remember you saying you saw it. You liked it? Did you see the other Eastwood movie about the Japanese side?
I saw only the American version. It was a good movie, but it rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like how they depicted the soldiers being used by the government, but then again, I guess that happens.
