If you'd like to add a little tiny icon in the message list, you may do so by clicking on the “Profile” button above. Click on “Forum Profile Information” and look for the “Personal Icon URL” line (see image below). In that line you will add the location of the icon image. You can choose one such as these to put in that line:I may be able to add additional icons in the future, but I've realize that at only 10 x 10 pixels they don't always look that great unless they're basic in shape. Let me know if you have any questions.

Geeks to this for the same reason emperors would build statues of themselves or promulgate decrees throughout the kingdom – for their own glory and verify their claim of self-perceived authority. Ok ok, so if you're not convinced by that explanation I'll just say "because it's kind of cool". And if you want a functional reason it will help you scan over the messages in topic view and quickly identify which posts were done by whom. If you want to be represented by a particular icon (e.g. three stars, a hammer/sickle, etc.) then it could also be done (not that you'd want to be associated with a hammer/sickle).
I like the first reason. 😀I thought it was a way to "flag" topics or something. BTW, I do not have that Personal Icon URL option.
Well I'll be. So I guess I'm the only one with the ability to do it. I'll try to find a way to change it, because otherwise my instructions are kind of useless, aren't they? 😮And sure, I can try to get a BF avatar available! I do take requests!

What do the stars under our name mean? I notice some people have one and some five, I am just curious if they mean anything or are they just random?
Stars generally correspond to ranks, and ranks correspond to number of posts. The levels are as follows, starting with the lowest:Auxiliary Legionary Signifier Optio Centurion Tribune Legatus After Legatus are higher ranks, but I'll leave them as surprises! ;D
