What do you guys think of this:Martin Luther King memorial Westminster Abbey [CC0], by Nadiastrid (Own work), from Wikimedia CommonsThis is a sculpture of Martin Luther King, Jr., placed on Westminster Cathedral. At first, I thought it was rather ridiculous to put a modern figure on a church alongside holy Saints from centuries and millennia past. People seem to grant him an elevated place which is more lofty than appropriate. While we can and should definitely appreciate and commemorate his example, he shouldn't be granted an exaggerated status (I don't know that we would hear about Abraham Lincoln's likeness being placed on a church, would we?). Then again, perhaps this carving is merely a memorial, and we see memorials all the time. Thoughts? But I suppose if one thinks of it
