I don't know that I would put John Lennon next to Philip of Macedon on this list. I might add Julian the Apostate, but there's a question of whether his death was truly assassination or not.
Gandhi is number one, I am incensed. Of course, I would put the archduke at number one. John Lennon and Malcom X would not even be on the list.
I am guessing that whoever made the list was being rather subjective; “famous” seems to be used in the sense that these assassinations are “well-known” to people living today. I imagine there were plenty of Roman emperors assassinated which resulted in effects much more profound than anything that happened after John Lennon's or Malcolm X's deaths.
