Nah, I don't think so, but there's a story in USA Today about it:
But a recent discovery in an Iranian salt mine, one scholar suggests, may shed light on the origins of a famous satyr of antiquity, one so well known that it merited a visit from the emperor himself.
While it may be remarkable (at least to me) that there's a mummy preserved with a big head of hair which is quite blond (didn't know that blonds lived in Iran back then) I'm not sure of the validity of leaping to the connection to a satyr. For one thing - and it's a big "one thing" - you're missing the half of the body that is the goat! It has occurred to me that historians seem to base significant motives only on evidence available to them when these motives could conceivably be assigned to any number of motives not preserved in the annals of history.I've attached a public domain image of a 17th Century painting by Jakob Jordaens showing a satyr on the right.
