Theres nothing racist about Donalds post. I really hate the way PC'ers throw that word around like it's nothing.
scout1067ParticipantSome think that whenever “race” is mentioned it must be racist or you would never have though of race in the first place. All I need are more lefty kool-aid drinkers spouting off about how this country needs more socialism and everybody just needs ahug and someone elses money. I am just waiting for the calls for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat to start.

I think what exists today is a move to a semiotic approach to race in which people interpret particular comments as being "code" for race. I can see how this is legitimate in certain circumstances (e.g. an all-white golf club which says it only wants members of "certain distinction") but particularly in the election season this has gone overboard. I recall a few months ago a charge of racism or racial overtones being brought up when someone praised Obama not for his arguments on the issues but for his oratory skills. I thought that this was interpreting a code where none existed. In the last few weeks we have heard other charges of racism brought by people on the left which I think have also gone too far in what they assert, in what they "read" into what is said.
skiguyModeratorSince this is an Obama thread, this has got to be one of the funniest and best bumper stickers I've seen.
DonaldBakerParticipantObama doesn't need to "deal" with his race. The only ones concerned with race are the bigots in sheets. I don't think Obama would govern as a "black man" as if governing that way would be "evil" or something. I think he would govern as a leftist who wants to redistribute the wealth away from the "rich" and more toward the poor. Race is not a factor or he wouldn't even have made it this far.
You get my "most racist sounding post" award. I'm sure it was not intentional, nor reflect any deep seeded racial prejudices. 🙂 Explain to a white faced innoscent canuck how would a "black man" govern?ps the USA needs to move left for it's own good, seriously social programs freakin rule dude! Am I my brothers keeper? = Universal Healthcare, yes or no?
I think you need to re-read my post again sir. 😉
