Earliest Known Winery Found in Armenian Cave This is an intriguing discovery. Not because they made wine but because large-scale wine production is an indication of agriculture. The story explains that this find supports DNA analysis showing that domesticated grapes originated in the Armenia/Georgia region. Actually a good find I would say, and something where even if it is not historic in the sense of leaving written records, it adds to our understanding of how society developed.
That is interesting and I agree – something that really helps us better understand history. I would not have thought that wineries existed as far back as 4000 B.C.
