scout, I know my OP was along the same lines of a Conservative Awakening, but I am beginning to seriously doubt this will happen. I thought the Tea Parties and controversy at Notre Dame would wake people up, but it didn't seem to at all. We'll just have to wait and see what happens in 2010, but I'm not exactly hopeful. :-[Phid, if Provincetown wasn't the gay mecca of New England I'd go there with a can of black...no, make that white...spray paint and "modify" the deified artwork.
Oh, I dont think we will see a huge change in 2010. I dont think the Dems will make any gains and may even lose a few seats in Congress. It depends on how radical their agenda is and how hard they push it. America did not vote for Obama so much as against Bush. What I think will happen is like what happens with kids when they get out of the house and realize mom and dad weren't so bad after all. The media did an excellent job of demonizing Bush but I am convinced history will vindicate him. The question is will the American people realize the implications of the Democrat/liberal agenda in time? Of that, I am hopeful but not extremely so. Do we really want the thought police and extreme socialism of the sort that is the logical conclusion of the libs policies? Answer that question and I could predict the elections. I cant answer it because I am not sure that America does not want that anymore.
