Put these pre-900 A.D. Frankish rulers in chronological order:Charlemagne, Charles the Bald, Charles Martel, Clovis, Pepin II, Pepin the Short Can you do it? ???
I believe it is Clovis, Pepin the Short, Pepin II, Charlemagne, Charles Martel, and Charles the Bald.
Clovis, Charles Martel, Charlegmagne, Charles the Bald, Pepin the short, and Pepin II. I am proud of myself for not looking this one up either even if I'm wrong. 🙂
Clovis (various)Charles MartelPepin the ShortCharleamagneChasles the Bald and Pepin II are contemporaries
Looks like no more answers will be attempted, so here is the correct order:1 - Clovis2 - Pepin II3 - Charles Martel4 - Pepin the Short5 - Charlemagne6 - Charles the BaldI unintentionally threw a curve in there as the Pepin II (635-714) that I referred to (also called Pepin of Herstal) is different from Pepin II of Aquitaine (823~864). This latter Pepin must have led to Wally's answer. Only Clovis was part of the Merovingian Dynasty, whereas the others were part of the Carolingian line.
