I'm doing a research paper on how the United States reacted to the Apollo 8 mission in light of many significant events that happened earlier in the year. To anyone who was alive at the time, what was your impression of the event? Did you see it as a tremendous achievement or were you more apathetic to it? What were your thoughts on actually landing on the moon in the future? Your comments won't be used in the paper, but I'd like to hear some first hand accounts for my own knowledge. Thanks!
I can't help you on this one because I was not alive during Apollo 8. But have you read the Time article about the crew from 1969?http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,900486,00.html
