I am hoping to unload some stock in the next few months and so would welcome a run up.  However, I have to admit that any run up because of political circumstances is probably just a blip, consumer reaction to day-to-day events, rather than any sign of a sustained improvement in the economy.  The GOP only controls the House, and that alone is not enough to make the economy improve.  Perhaps just a stopgap for an economy in decline. For a while, I have thought that with the stimulus spending and everything else, the economy would improve, albeit on a temporary basis.  The real problem is what will happen in the long term – with inflation, and crippling debt.  For every dollar that Obama promises for a new rail line or some other pet project, we the taxpayers will have to come up with that money….eventually.

I too own stock and I think what we are seeing is a bubble.  I am waiting to buy when the market tanks again.  I picked up some blue-chips dirt cheap in the fall of '08 and spring of '09.  I hope to do it again soon.
