Looks like it's in northern England near Scotland, so yes it is quite far. Don't see why I couldn't make a day trip of it.
Even though European countries are tiny compared to the US what would seem to be short trips have a strange way of taking much longer than you thought. If you are going to the Wall from London you should probably count on making it a two-day trip at least; if you want to be able to spend any time seeing it that is.
If I don't see it, I don't see it. Still going to Greece someday too….that will be my history trip. I'll do the British Museum one or two days depending on how big the ancient history sections are. And I don't care how long it takes, I'm going to my ancestors' town. (and stop by the one little pub there) Besides this is looking more and more like a rugby trip. Some of me rugby mates might be interested in going. (/British accent off). Playing rugby in England, even if just a little scrimmage, would be wicked cool! And can't skip the huge rugby museum near Twickenham. OK, it may not be the ancient history trip I originally planned, so I'll call it a sports history tour instead. If time permits, might even go start some colonies too. (you know what they say about karma ;D )*this thread would fit better in Industrial Age Europe now
