In another example of a person who was a part of history passing. Rosie the Riveter, or at least the woman who was the model for her, passed away last week. We are definitely hearing more and more stories about WWII era vets and people passing away in the last few years. I remember hearing a couple of years ago that WWII vets were dying at the rate of something like 1,000 a day. I dont know if that number is still true though if it ever was in the first place.
Here's a photo of what she looked like in recent times:http://www.freep.com/article/20101231/NEWS08/12310337/Geraldine-Doyle-inspiration-for-Rosie-the-Riveter-dies...but I would like to see a photo of her from around the time the poster was created.
