I ran across this on Yahoo today [urlhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100218/ap_on_re_eu/eu_russia_us_wwii_vet]Russian museum honors US WWII vet[/url] This guys story is actually quite surprising. I was not aware that any Americans had fought on the Russian side during the war, at least none that were serving in the American army at the same time. I know that the Russians had a habit of interning the crews of damaged bombers that landed in Russian controlled territory. That makes this story doubly surprising. It is kind of an interesting twist that his son is now the Russian Ambassador.
