Does anyone else experience this? Whenever I write a long post or PM and when I get to the end, if it's below the viewable window size, the bottom lines do not show unless I manually scroll down. Instead of scrolling along while typing, it “jumps” to the middle…the newly typed words show up, it just doesn't stay on those bottom lines. I have to type blindly (and hope the spelling is correct). It's weird. I don't experience this on other forums.
No, I don't think that has happened to me. What browser are you using? I use Firefox, I tried Google Chrome but it does wired stuff sometimes.
IE. Don't remember if this started happening afer I updated to ver 8.
I have had this too, also not sure if before or after upgrade.
I switched from IE8 because it it just too slow, but that might just be my machine. I have a laptop with only a 1.6 Ghz processor, my wife's machine is a desktop with a 2.2 Ghz and runs IE8 just fine.
I just tested this out myself on IE8 and I experienced the same thing. Apparently it is a known bug with the forum software I'm using."Bouncing" When Trying to Type Long PostsLooks like there is currently no fix, except you may want to "switch IE8 into compatibility mode"...whatever that means. Hopefully the bug will be addressed when the forum software is updated.
Just did a test after I changed compatibility mode and it seemed to work. Compatibility mode is on the same line where home and printer is. It is within the “page” dropdown menu. After I changed it, it said WCF is now in compatibility mode. Wonder if it will stay like this even after closing browser. Will advise in next long post.Update: It looks like it stays because WCF is now added to the compatability list. It does not seem to affect other websites, only the ones you tell it to.
Or check the box that runs all pages in compatibilty mode… saves hassle with older pages.
