I have noticed over the past two days that WCF has been loading somewhat slow or has been timing out altogether more than I am comfortable with. I have notified my hosting company to fix the problem. Thank you for your patience.
Thanks – confirms that it is not just a local thing. Tech support has notified me they are looking into the problem and will give me an update later on. Hopefully it is nothing too major.
Hello, We are facing some load spikes in the server and that is causing the issues. We are working on this and is trying to find the reason for the load spike. I appreciate your patience and I will keep you updated with the progress. Regards, Technical Support
I have been getting all sorts of weird things this morning from posts disappearing, sit not loading and clicking topic areas and getting prompted to download the index.php file… 🙁
Crap…sorry about that! I got this from my web host this morning:
Hello, We have done a detailed check on the server and could find two malicious scripts running in the server. We have disabled those scripts and suspended the culprit account. Currently the server load is normal and server is running fine. Please let us know if you are facing any issue regarding this. Regards, Technical Support
Unfortunately, after that the site was still a bit sluggish, and then I was running into 500 internal server errors across my sites. I notified the host again so they know that I've still got problems. My advice to all - at least until this problem is solved - is to copy your post after writing them but before you hit the "Post" button, so at least you don't lose your work. I know that it can be a major pain to spend time writing something, only to have it get lost in cyberspace because the server won't cooperate! 😮
On my end it has been slightly slow at times but definitely has improved since the problem began. And now it's not timing out constantly like it was yesterday. I'll continue to monitor the situation and let my web host know if I need to.
It's very slow for me in San Diego. I've seen this problem with other sites. Usually it's because the hoast has problems and/or moved an account to what a IT friend describes as "a peice of crap" server. (An old server, an overloaded server, etc.)Hopefully the hoast will resolve the problem. If not the only option according to my IT friend is to change hoasts.
Ok – I thought it would resume normal speed once the previous problem was fixed. Before about a week ago, load speed was fine on my end. I don't know what happened in the meantime. I will have to notify my hosting service about the ongoing problem.
No problems here. Have you tinkered with the cache settings on the back end of WCF? Or are you saying this is happening to all your sites? Seems like no matter what host you go to, you run into problems. Isn't it time for 1and1? LOL
