I added a link to a site containing a lot of lyrics and accompanying midi melodies for many songs from before the birth of the United States through the 1900s. It was kind of neat to read the lyrics and hear the melody at the same time for some of these songs. The lyrics are kind of touching as well when you think about what some of these songwriters were thinking about when they came up with their words.http://www.westerncivforum.com/index.php?action=links;cat=5
I agree. I have made some cd's of historic music (mostly from the civil war) and I enjoy listening to them. I will defiantly check out the link.
