From Cracked.com. The 5 Most Ridiculous Lies You Were Taught In History ClassI loved Cracked and Mad Magazine when I was a kid and the websites are still pretty good. I knew all of these were lies but the title is true, there are plenty of morons out there who don't.
I guess I was in the circle in which I could read Mad Magazine, but not Cracked. I have seen that they consistently have interesting history-related articles on their site, written by writers who seem like they were slacker punks with an above-average intelligence in history.
It is a great time waster site. I am currently on sick leave after having yet another spinal surgery last week so I have nothing better to do than try to find the end of the internet. 8)
Well, I hope you get better soon. Does not sound like a comfortable operation to get through. If you're looking for interesting web sites, I would definitely check out StumbleUpon. I have been using it for years and the sites that you find through it are amazing.
Yes, that too. I think I have spent more time on Facebook in the past week than in the past six months.I had a disc replacement done on the C5/C6 vertebrae. It actually went much like my back surgery a few years ago. I woke up from the surgery pain free except for he incision. I now look like I survived an attempted throat slitting. And I have a beard, which I have never had. I cannot tilt my head back to shave yet and so am growing a beard, I do not know whether I like it or not. I do know my wife hates it. 😀
I've read most of the History archives blogs on cracked.com, most are funny and sometimes interesting, a good laugh first and some thinking after. Not bad.
