The History Channel had a program on the Jim Jones cult and the mass “suicide” at Jonestown in Guyana. I didn't really know anything about it except for vague references so it was good to learn about it. I had no idea that a U.S. Congressman was killed down there when things went down. I read through the Wikipedia article on Jonestown and saw that there are some conspiracy theories (involving the CIA) that sound really startling (they probably always are) but I don't know if there's any truth to the matter.
There is a really good movie on the subject with Powers Boothe as Jim Jones. I cant remember the exact title of the movie but I'm sure A google search would find it.
Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones . It was a good movie, but very disturbing.
Yes, thats it. It was very good and Boothe looked just like Jones in that movie.
