I cant get very technical on this but the supreme court allows the drug testing(bodily fluids) of transportation workers;i.e., commercial piolots,trainengineers,bus and truck drivers for the SAFETY of the general public.  So why not the listning to phone conversations of suspected terroists?

I think whaat people are afraid of is the snowbal effect, where does it stop? Personally, if someone wants to listen to my phone, go ahead, I have nothing to hide. But down the road, whats next? Home inspections? detainment? And if you dont think it can get to that point, you dont know much about history.
