I visited the Orthodox Church where the Czech SOE guys and their accomplices who killed Reynhard Heydrich in 1942 this past weekend. Unfortunately pictures are not allowed and the church is still in use so you can only go in the crypt. There is a very interesting series of storyboards that detail the operation and how it was executed. There is also a memorial in front of the church to the 173 conspirators and family members that were executed after the plot. I did not know, and found it interesting that all the SOE guys involved in the plot and trapped in the church either died of their wound or killed themselves rather than be captured. I also was not aware that the Nazis executed entire families fir involvement in the plot, the youngest person executed was a 14 year old girl whose father provided the operatives shelter before the operation. Inside the crypt where most of the guys died there are busts of all the operatives with their stories in the location where they died. It is very solemn and the men are hailed as heroes of the Czech nation. Very interestingThe only thing I did not like is the museum follows the modern trend of museums of having few artifacts on display but massive amounts of photos and text. Here is a link to a short description of the museum.
