Spammer See: His IP Adress report 213.139.60.8
Actually, I don't think he is necessarily a spammer. He is not posting any links, the text of his message does not seem to be copy and paste, he announced his country of origin (which is true based on IP), and his message is forum-related. I wonder if it's a shared IP that he's using, which may have put it on a spam list.
What gets me and convinces me he is a spammer is the studied vagueness of what he writes. What exactly is a thesis in Modern History? He certainly does not give us any clues about what he is going to write about to offer any help with.Perhaps my struggles with spam on my blog are making me more cynical. But his comment sounds just like most of the spam I get and I have settled down to only getting 10-15 spam messages a day on my blog. I could only hope to get as many legitimate visitors as I get spam-bots. Lastly, the IP Checker I linked to seems pretty good about ID'ing IPs that spam comes from. A simple search for the email address show it is out there but only has posted on Arabic sites and several of those are reported as being virus sources by my AV program. A couple of the sites he posts on look like Islamist sites to me, but that could just be my knee-jerk distrust of Muslims and Arabs in general. I would love it if this guy comes forward and proves he is not a spammer but I am not holding my breath.
I sent him a PM but didn't receive any reply yet … you might be right about “spammer”. Wait and see 😉
I think he's legit. But I am interested to know what specific topic in modern history we are to help with?
