So, what is your take on the cover of Time Magazine that recently came out that replaces the flag from the Iwo Jima scene and puts a tree in its place? Take a look at the photo and uproar here:http://cbs13.com/local/time.magazine.wwii.2.703246.html
I guess I wasn't surprised by it, but from what I read there was some very negative reaction toward it. Part of it was probably because it was messing with a solemn icon of American history, and part of it was probably because it was done for what many would probably consider to be an ideological agenda, or at least in part for this reason.
I saw this magazine at my parents' house the other day and asked my dad if he was offended by the cover – he's a WW2 vet. He wasn't personally offended but he certainly understood other veterans' opinions.
H. H., I consider my father a rarity in that he's open to both sides of a topic. Many magazines and newspapers with differing points of view grace his library. His words of wisdom to me have been to always keep an open mind and listen to (or read) both sides of the subject before forming an opinion. At his age – he's in his eighties – he knows a bit more than me.
H.H. – I understand. My strong opinions get me into trouble many times. That's when I hear my father's words echoing in head…along with seeing my husband's smirk on his face saying, “now, bail yourself out of this one, will you?”…
I was not offended but it is no more than I expect out of the MSM. I just find the cover to be in extremely bad taste. It seems to me that it is mocking the sacrifices made on Iwo Jima.

+1 I can see some of the Iwo Marines wanting to kick some Time butt over this, and some of today's Marines gladly willing to do that for them.MSM libs...well, at least maggots serve a purpose. I haven't figured one out for the MSM besides pushing an insane agenda
