    Here are my picks for the top ten westerns of all time. Now I know this isn't necessarily a historical question or comment, but we all know we love top ten lists. So here goes in no particular order;1. The Searchers2. Lonsome Dove3. Dances with Wolves4. Open Range5. Unforgiven6. High Noon7. Quigley Down Under8. Once upon a time in the West9. Tombstone10. The Outlaw Josey WalesI would like to give honorable mention to almost any western Jimmy Stewart ever made, and of course Blazing Saddles.

    It doesnt surprise me with the movies, but the TV series, is a bit of a surprise.

    I don't usually like Westerns much, but Sergio Corbucci's The Great Silence with Klaus Kinski is cult!http://www.moviemail-online.co.uk/sleeve/larger/18917.JPGAnd of course The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a classic.

    Welcome Fritz! Interesting choice. Thats a movie I've never heard of. Was that made around the time Sergio Leone was making his westerns?

    Yes, late 60s. It was a cult movie in Germany, maybe not anywhere else. 😛

    There supposed to be making another lonesome dove movie based on 'Commanche moon' by McMurtry
