This is an interesting story. World War II Vet Finds Out He Is Not a U.S. Citizen This guy faces a similar problem that many soldiers who have children in Europe face. It is why my ex-wife flew back to the States to have our daughter.
And to think he was getting a driver's license at age 95! Really, I wonder how he never ran into another situation in which he needed to show his place of birth. But I imagine how he must feel having fought in a war for the U.S., and now worried about being deported by the U.S.
I think he was getting a renewal, not a new one. The story said something about him needing a new more secure ID to go to Canada.
What a very sad story 🙁 I hope that man found the solution to that government mistake (in my opinion) . He served the country in times of need, he just wanted benefits on his retirement.
