I am waiting to hear the real ranting start about the Bourgeois. That has got to be coming. America is getting ready to reap what we have sown and in ten years the country will be remade along socialist, ethnic lines. I wonder how many Obama voters are suffering from buyer's remorse right now.
Yeah, I'm guessing that “post-bubble” is a code word for a highly-regulated economy which will control abuses in the free market. Problem is, it cuts a dagger into the free market itself. They should do a poll and ask, "Knowing what you know now, and if you could vote over again, who would you vote for?"
I am curious to see how the push for universal health care will work out. The media seems to think it is a slam-dunk to be enacted but I am not so sure. One thing is certain, universal health care is sure to be on the agenda for at least the next four years and will be part of the socialist program Obama has already laid out. He said it on the campaign trail and his budget proves that what he is seeking is the wholesale redistribution of wealth along traditional socialist lines. We just thought the Patriot Act was bad. Wait until the compassionate left starts regulating, I dont think anything will be off limits to them in their quest to make America a kinder, gentler place. I look forward to the streets of America getting even more unsafe than they are currently once the all the Rehabilitated ::) felons start getting released from our inhumane prisons. We are in for a heck of a ride, I think.
You know, for all that domestic “badness” we have to wait for in the future, I think it could potentially be the least (or only half) of our worries. I get the feeling that Putin, Chavez and others see Obama as a pushover and are willing to take advantage of this by doing things they were unable to get away with under W's watch. I seriously think this is the case and things that have developed very recently only confirm this feeling. International issues weren't really all that prominent in the last election (aside from the Iraq issue) but the American people could very quickly realize how important they are if something escalates in a hurry. On an interesting side note, I would expect that the increased aggression by foreign nations would mean a quick rehabilitation for Bush's reputation. Even Bush's critics would have to acknowledge that even if they despised him, they also felt pretty safe under his watch…
It's funny, all this talk about being imperialistic or mean and arrogant in our foreign policy (when in actuality it is just American dominance), but as soon as an administration backs down from things, trouble starts brewing. Obama did campaign about international relations. He mentioned what I said above. Well, if everybody “likes” us because Obama's so nice, it sure seems there are many escalating hot spots and dangerous alliances going on around the world right now.
It is quite curious how many of our enemies are feeling their wild oats about now isn't it. If I were Putin or Chavez, I would percieve Obama as being weak on foreign policy. He certainly sounds it with all his talk of engagement with terrorists and outlaw regimes. Teddy Roosevelt said it best

It's funny. When Bush was president, there was fear of a police state and the use of military force on civilians in the US. But I think now, if there's going to be any citizen revolt against the government, the military will be on the same side as us.
I just got my January issue of the “Journal of Military History”. there is a very interesting article in it about the militarization of American society since the WWI and how the trend is increasing in the face of the endless “War on Terror”. Very interesting piece. I think Obama should maybe reread the Declaration of Independence and really ponder the implications of the colonists desire for independence. This passage in particular has new meaning to me.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
How much socialism are the 48% that did not vote for Obama willing to tolerate? I think the political and ideological divide in America just keeps on growing. Neither side of the political spectrum really listens to the other. There is no reason in the debate. We, as a nation sound like Weimar Germany or Tsarist Russia. The nation is searching for an ideologue. The left found theirs in Obama, who will fill that role for the right?I dont think the time is ripe in America for a revolution though. The majority of the people are content to take their government handouts. I also dont think the military would support one. The military abhors disorder and I dont think discontent is at a level that will lead to mutiny. The American experiment still has years to run, I think.

The current administration and its fool policies are the prof of the ancient Chinese proverb: “be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.”Have all these flakes on the left thought through the implications of the policy changes announced so far? Do George Soros, Ariana Huffington, Chris Matthews, etc, really want the government involved in everyone's lives as much as they claim? Do they really think all this social spending and redistribution of wealth is fair? I have been listening to the rhetoric out of the left since the inauguration and I cant help bu think that except for content, those on the american left sound just as serious and righteous as Hitler, Lenin, or Mussolini ever did. The only real difference is they are coming from the left and the Fascists came from the right. Hitler even promised and provided massive social spending and work creation projects in his first few years as German Chancellor.Is it realistic to see Obama or someone from the left leading America into a war in a few years to protect human rights? Perhaps with the goal of creating a world government, it would only be for own good anyway. Those that worry about the NAU have more to worry about from a democrat than a republican, the democrats are the true one-worlders and the NAU would be a definite first step down that road like the EU is in Europe. Even more debt: Dems to lift debt ceiling by $1.8 trillion, fear 2010 backlash. How is more national debt going to help the economy? I feel sorry for the next generation that is going to get stuck paying for the mess the baby boomers are making of the nation, I guess they are as narcissistic as we thought all along.
