I realize this is a WESTERN CIV forum so history questions not pertaining to that shouldn't be overly asked, but once in a while I have an unrelated to Western Civ history question and was wondering where to post and if it's even OK to post it.
Well thats up to Phid. But I think we all appreciate history no matter what corner of the world it comes from.
I think most history can be related back to the Western World in some way or another….even in the ancient world because the geographic center shifts to Greece and Israel.
Really, what would we do if it weren't on topic? It's not as if there is some punisher waiting on the wings for someone to post something in the wrong topic. The Recent History area seems the best place for modern political stuff; there's a board for general history questions that don't fit into other areas; and I suppose if you have a question on non-Western Civ stuff (e.g. history of China, Japan, etc.) it would be ok to post it in the General History area as well. Of course if you have something non-history or non-political you can always post it in the Roman Senate area. I don't want you to think you're doing something wrong if you post something in the wrong area….at this point the forum is somewhat organic.
