So here's a question – which museum in the world would you really like to visit next? Could be a museum you've been to already, or one you've never visited before.
The British Museum

British Museum is a good choice. I'd like to go there as well some day.The funny thing about that site for the "Museum of Bad Art" was that it's hard to know how some of those works differ from works that are in actual museums.I'd like to visit the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, or the Vatican Museums. I was last there many years ago and would love to go back.

The Louvre seems to be interesting as well. You've been to Africa, eh? I've been to the Louvre a few times and it's one of the places where it's easy to get "museumed-out". The size of the place is such that after a while, you get tired of all the art and then it's like, "whatever". 😉

Just for a little more than a year, it was a "great" experience.
The National Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C.
If you go, be sure to take the time for a side trip to the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center - an extension of the National Air and Space Museum out at Dulles Airport -- pretty impressive. The Enola Gay, SR-71, Space Shuttle, etc... well worth the extra time. Admission is free (parking is like $15 bucks!)
If I ever make my longed for trip to D.C, I plan on spending at least 3-4 days in the Air & Space museum alone. I have only been to D.C. once for an afternoon and of course I went to the mall but not to any of the Smithsonian museums. I did go into the Air & Space museum for a minute to use the bathroom, I held it until we got there 🙂
Probably wont be for a few years, if at all. My wife cringes when I tell her I want to visit the Air & Space museum, I have already dragged to Houston, and Kennedy Space Centers as well as the Ames NASA research facility and Marshall Spaceflight Facility where I got to see a test firing of a Shuttle main engine. I have never seen a Shuttle launch although I did see a Delta V go up, which was pretty impressive.
D.C. is an awesome place for museums. When I was living in the area a few years ago, I'd take the metro in to the American History Museum. You really need to spend a few hours in a single area, so it took me a few return trips to get a good look at the place. Since it's free, all you need is the time to make the visit.A memorable story: there was a special exhibit there on Brown v. Board of Education. Included in the exhibit were things on racism in America, such as the photo of KKK members marching down Pennsylvania Avenue, and a white robe and hood in one of the display cases. There was an African American man there with his daughter (who must have been about 10) and regarding the robe and hood she asked what it was, and her father must have answered, and then she said (paraphrasing), "but people don't do that kind of thing any more, right?" Her father leaned down to her and started saying something to her as I walked on, but it really struck me about how different generations are raised nowadays. What might have been a real symbol of terror to one generation is foreign to the next. It made me thing that racially, America had come a long way.
