ParticipantLooks like a T-72 variant so the focus need to be on the uniform or other clues… as so many countries used on(e) of the family. see below.

ParticipantI am going to have to go with either Polish or Czech. I dont know of any other countries that had T-72's prior to the end of communism other than the DDR and they wore a different uniform altogether.

RIGHT!! 1985--Yugoslavia--Belgrade to be precise.There is no Croation language per se.It is the Serbo-Croation language with two scripts--one Latin and one CyrilicThings may change in time, but in 1985 it was still a nation-state with a single language and a dual signage.Kudos to you!
