    I had money on today's games and was expecting Spain to beat the Netherlands.  Unfortunately, the object of Skiguy's mancrush, Robin van Persie, made sure that didn't happen.Any predictions on the winner?

    I think Holland has a pretty good chance.  I also think Italy does also.

    That Chile/Dutch match is going to be huge!BTW, my Hispanic coworkers (huge Spain supporters) are mad at me now. I went up to them this morning and said "Sorry, for your loss.  Would you like some chili for lunch?"I cannot repeat their response here.  ;D

    All they needed was for Italy to pull off the simple win against underdog Costa Rica, and they failed.  I wonder what the British were thinking about the Italians after that.

    The more I watch soccer the more I am convinced that many, if not most, games are fixed.  Too often it happens that the “favorite” is pulled out at the last minute by a foul that the Ref just does not call or they let the game continue even after regulation and extra time has elapsed.
