I think the amount of outright ignorance in that article is amazing; add in the stupidity of the neighbors and that article alone should be a classic. While reading I was reminded of how technologically ignorant most people are and also of the proverb about how "any technology, sufficiently advanced will appear to be magic." I have gigged my son on this constantly in regards to computers, cell phones, TV, etc. He has no idea how they work and has no desire to learn, they might as well be magic for all he is concerned.
Another interesting point of view :History, with rose-tinted hindsight :Is the teaching of history about chronology and narrative, or about analysis and structure, or about information and detail, or about imagination and empathy, or about a combination of some or all of these things?http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/8762969.stm
I agree, the French Team could have made a serious run at the World Cup this year but have sadly ruined it for themselves. Ribery alone is an outstanding player. I will admit I only know about him because he sia star for FC Bayern the Bundesliga team I love to hate, I am a FC Nurnberg fan myself.
Ireland would have done much better without Henry's hand. The problem with the French team is the lack of "spirit". Shame on them.
If the French players concentrated more on playing le Fus and less time arguing they may have advanced too. Seems they never recovered from losing to Mexico and fell apart after that.
What the French team did, is totally unacceptable for so-called professionals. No excuse at all !
